Clothesline Project 2013

The Sexual Assault Support Centre will be hosting The Clothesline Project in February 2013 at UBC-Vancouver.

The Clothesline Project started in 1990 to address the issues of violence against women.  It is has traditionally been a vehicle for women affected by violence to express their emotions by decorating a shirt. They then hang the shirt on a clothesline to be viewed by others as a testimony to the problem of violence against women.

The Sexual Assault Support Centre (SASC) invites individuals of all genders, whether they have survived violence or not, to join us in decorating a shirt.  T-shirts, paint, and additional supplies will be provided.

The SASC will be hosting a Clothesline workshop, where individuals are welcome to decorate shirts.

The dates and locations of the workshops are as follows:

·         Tuesday, February 12th from 11:00am-3:00pm in SUB Room 212

·         Wednesday, February 13th from 2:00pm-5:00pm in SUB Room 215

The decorated t-shirts will be displayed on the SUB Main Concourse on February 25th and February 26th between the hours of 11am-3pm.  Individuals are also welcome to decorate shirts during the Clothesline display.

We hope to see you!
