Update – SASC is offering Hospital Accompaniments again

Beginning on Monday, August 17th, the SASC will once again be offering Hospital Accompaniment services for survivors who are looking to access the Sexual Assault Service (SAS) at UBC Urgent Care Centre.

The SAS offers care and services to anyone 13 years or older who has been sexually assaulted within the past 7 days and is available at the following locations:

  • UBC Urgent Care Centre at Koerner Pavilion, 2211 Wesbrook Mall, 7 days a week from 8am to 10pm
  • Vancouver General Hospital’s (VGH) Emergency Department (24 hours), 920 West 10th Avenue.

You can also call BC Women’s Hospital switchboard at (604) 875-2424 and ask to speak to Sexual Assault Services to connect to a physician or nurse examiner if you are unable to go in-person. For more information on the Sexual Assault Service, visit the SAS program website or contact the SASC at (604) 827-5180 to speak with a Support Worker.

The SASC is continuing to offer limited in-person appointments that may be booked in advance Monday-Friday between 10am-4pm. If you would like to visit our office in person, please contact us at 604 827-5180 or sasc@ams.ubc.ca. Whichever way you choose to access our services, know that you are not alone. See our previous blog posts to learn more about in-person and distance support options.

With love and solidarity,

Your SASC team.
